Watamu
General Information
The fishing village of Watamu is situated on the Coast of Kenya and is one of the most inspiring coastal towns in East Africa. Located at the northern end of Turtle Bay, the sandy beach looks out over turquoise water interspersed with coral reefs.
The town is a mixture of traditionalism and commercialism, with the focus being mainly on the beach. Approximately 10km outside of Watamu is the Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve and Gedi Ruins which protects the largest coastal forest in East Africa.
