Diamond Beach Village is a family eco lodge which has been running for 17 years, it is also a seafood restaurant, pizza and beach bar.

Situated facing the sunsets on the most pristine beach front of Manda island.  At the mouth the indian ocean, the warmest ocean in the world, known as “the mine of gems” you will find your Diamond. It is the perfect place to come and relax for a day on the beach, a weekend away from the city or weeks totally immersed in the peace of the island. There are no cars on Lamu or Manda, the only form of transport is donkey or boat: The pace of life is inevitably slow and relaxed. The island is located roughly two degrees south of the equator therefore you can guarantee that perfect island getaway from July – April.

Come and join us for sunset sailing, snorkeling, kite surfing, bird watching, star gazing and the occasional full moon party.

 

Diamond Beach Village - Accommodation

Sleeping at Diamond gives you the chance to get back to nature and allow the wind in the trees and the lap of the ocean to send you to sleep and the bird songs to slowly bring you back to the world in the morning.

Every banda is en suite with a shower, toilet and sink, we don’t have hot water but it is tepid from the heat of the day on the tank.  Each banda has a front porch, which is furnished with tables and chairs so that you can relax in privacy and the doubles have swing beds outside. All bandas are provided with sheets, mosquito nets and towels. Each banda has 24 hour solar lighting and for charging cameras etc there is a main charging point in the library.

Diamond Beach is the perfect place for single travelers, couples, families or a group of up to 20 wanting total seclusion and privacy: days spent swimming, reading, walking, sailing, fishing and evenings spent at the bar or round the fire place after dinner.

• Restaurant: The restaurant seating area is shaded from the sun with large palm thatched umbrellas, conveniently situated with a fantastic view of the Indian Ocean
• Blue Moon Bar & Pizza Oven: This is a funky new area in which to relax, have pre dinner drinks and watch the sunset
• Lamu and Around: Shela village is only a 5 minute boat ride away across the channel, Peponi Hotel, with its bustling bar and five star restaurant is an interesting alternative to the tranquillity of Diamond.. There are also a variety of shops selling local gifts.
• Library & Chill Out Area: Our ‘yoga studio’mis now a chill out area for guests, with swinging chairs and beds, a large library and games
• Relaxation: The shaded beach beds are the number 1 spot for lazing the days away
• Boat Trips & Sports: Kitesurfing, Snorkelling, Fishing
